Year 2020, it was a tough year for everyone in the world. Mainly because of Covid-19 virus which had taken lives of already millions of people and the world economy had knelt down because of it. One of our founders was in Nepal for his vacation and was supposed to return back to Germany. Rule was that before boarding flight, he had to show the negative result in PCR test. He did his PCR and tested negative. He took the result and boarded the flight. But to his surprise, the customs at Frankfurt airport declined his entry to Germany citing that the PCR test was invalid. Germany had already published a report with list of many countries whose PCR test is not acceptable in Germany. Our country was also one of them. The airport staff at Kathmandu airport did not know this new development. He was surprised as well as ashamed at the same moment. After some investigations we realised that the PCR test kits used in Nepal are not of good quality. We quickly realised the importance of good machineries in any industries. Also we found that there are not many good companies who procure good quality machineries in Nepal. Many are focused on cheap machines just for the sake of saving some money, thereby putting public life and health on hazard.
This triggered us the idea about Fulcrum. There was a great need of a fulcrum between manufacturers in different countries with industries in developing countries like Nepal. Since there is not big market in such countries, such manufacturers cannot and also are not interested in market expansion there. It will be too much work and hassle for a very small ROI. That’s where we come in between. We help industries in Nepal procure quality products from all over the world while at the same time help manufacturers expand into Nepal market.
We believe in hard work as well as having some fun at work.
Fulcrum Nepal aims to work as a connection between manufacturers from industries like hospitals, hydropower, process industry, cosmetics and their customers.
